The Engraving

Thirteen Colonies, One Rifle Each

The New Original Henry is the 1860 design reborn in hardened brass, the rifle that started the legend. For the 250th anniversary we issue it as One of Thirteen, thirteen rifles for each of the thirteen original colonies, 169 in all, each carrying its colony's name.

The work combines roll and laser engraving with 24 karat gold inscriptions, set against a receiver built for display. Three elements appear on every rifle.

  • IWashington Crossing the DelawareThe crossing on Christmas night, 1776, the turning point of the Revolution, engraved across the receiver.
  • IIThe Colonial RiflemanA rifleman standing watch, with the inscription "Land of the Free, Because of the Brave" in 24 karat gold.
  • IIIThe Colony InscriptionThe name of your chosen colony, marking your rifle as one of only thirteen made for it.
